History of AAF-Utah
The American Advertising Federation of Utah, or AAF-Utah, was started in 1909 by a group that called themselves the Salt Lake Advertising Club. The organization was originally affiliated with the Advertising Association of the West (AAW). In the late 1960s, AAW merged with an eastern organization to form the American Advertising Federation (AAF).
For many years Utah's advertising organization was called the Utah Advertising Federation or UtahAdFed. Recently, in an effort to strengthen the AAF national brand, local chapters havestarted to convert to using AAF along with their local affiliation, as their name. And now, we are AAF-Utah.
AAF-Utah is one of 220-plus organizations that make up the 52,000-member AAF. With a membership of over 300, AAF-Utah is among the largest affiliates of AAF. Our members work on some of the largest brands in the world and Utah is increasingly becoming a hot bed for advertising talent.
